He Cares

I want to thank all of you for the break from writing these letters for my studies. I have learned a great deal and have gone as far as I desire at this time. I had not thought of writing the letters again until the passing of my mother-in-law. I realized God wanted me to begin again, allowing Him to use these letters as an expression of His love for you.

On the day of her service, when the tears started flowing, I saw the pain of her family over their great loss and just then Jesus showed me this is just how He felt when His friend Lazarus died.

In John 11:33-35 it says, “When Jesus therefore saw her weeping and the Jews came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled and said, “Where have you laid Him?” They said to Him, “Lord come see.” Jesus wept.

Jesus was not weeping because Lazarus died because He knew He would be raising him up, but wept because of the pain His friends were experiencing.

When we remember Jesus is the exact representation of God on this earth, we can see that Jesus showed God’s pain when those whom He loved felt pain.

We sometimes think when the painful things in life happen that God does not see, nor does He care, but that is far from the truth. God does care and He loves us so much that in Luke 12:6-7 He says, “Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? And yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear you are of more value than the sparrows.”

Jesus is explaining to them that the sparrows are so cheap and worthless, you can get five of them for little money, but God cares even for them. He says you are far more valuable than these birds, caring for you so much that He even knows when you lose one single hair from your head. He cares for every second of your life and even weeps when you weep.

At the end of the service it started to sprinkle and for a second I thought I thought about moving out of the rain. Then I remembered the old saying that the rain was God’s tears from heaven. I knew God was also crying over the pain of her family from the loss of our loved one and this wonderful Christian witness.
