Colossians 4:5-6 says, “Conduct yourself with wisdom toward outsiders, making most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.”
Sometimes I am guilty of getting into a rush with people and speak in a rude or harsh manor. When I do this it makes me lose the open door to speak Jesus into their life. To conduct yourself with wisdom towards outsiders is to treat each person with great respect and value. Doing this helps when you want to speak about the principles of Jesus so they won’t turn you off. Our speech also needs to be full of grace and inviting, seasoned as it were with salt, inviting them with your speech to ask about why you are different.
