To see Jesus

Do you want to have a closer relationship with Jesus?

Hebrews 12:14 states, “Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.”

This verse tells us two things we must do to see Jesus, pursue peace and sanctification. To pursue is to run after or chase, which is saying you would do anything to obtain it, what this means is for you to be the one to make peace in all conflicts.

Sanctification is the process of being made holy. To pursue holiness is to do whatever you can to be like Jesus, learning to live out His principles. Jesus is saying if you make these two areas of great importance to you He will in turn show Himself to you.

  1. It is true that we should pursue peace but is it reallly possible to be like jesus or to be trying to be like jesus……. the basic quality then that we would need is never to lie and I am afraid to say that I dnt think there exists a man who never lied……… and moreover god has made every individual a different being so why try being someone else when u can be u……… 🙂

    1. It is true one will never attain to the perfect standard of Jesus! The Bible teaches that God wants us to be a witness of His goodness, which is what Jesus displayed while on this earth and also what He wants us to try to do! This is not taking from being yourself it is enhancing yourself!

      1. I agree to what u say but since there are innumerable points of views of a single point, in the same way I m viewing it from a different angle …… what I think is that jesus on earth displayed his own goodness and so we should display our own goodness in our own way because there is not a single rule to display your goodness in a particular way……..

  2. Yes, Jesus displayed His own goodness, as the sinless son of God. We can only display our own goodness from a sinners standpoint. Therefore our goodness is not really all that good, unless the goodness of God is helping us be good.
