Which Church?

In this day there are thousands of Bible believing Churches to choose from, so how do I know which one to choose?

One thing we must understand, God is not concerned with the style of service you attend, in fact you can go to whichever one you want to. He is concerned with your heart motive. Why do you go to church?

In Isaiah 1:1-15 God tells Israel, through the prophet Isaiah, that He took no pleasure in their worship, that it had even become a burden to Him!

Why? Because of their heart attitude.

Even though they were following the law of worship they missed the point of worship, and for us to attend a weekly service because we think God will be pleased, misses the point of worship.

To worship God is to bow yourself before Him, allowing Him every place in your life, following the leading of the Holy Spirit’s call to action.

Jesus said to the woman at the well, when she asked Him where to worship, “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24, ”

    1. Very good point. I believe it does matter that the church is a Bible-believing church that doesn’t distort Who He is, but if we fully bow before Him and offer our life completely to Him, that’s where we’ll end up.

  1. i Love this post. So many times we get caught up in the tradition of going to church just to “check the block” of things done for the week. What kind of relationship do we have with him the other 6 days of the week? Do we give him the first part of our day and spend time in commune with him? Do we communicate with him throughout the day, allowing him lead us? In my opinion, spending that time with him each day creates an intimate relationship with him.
