As we go on in our Christian life and God shares with us certain truths of things we must change in our life, it is hard for us not to expect those around us to do the same. We might even become exasperated because it seems as if God is not requiring them to change as much as He is asking you to do.
God has given each person their own personal walk with Him and they are responsible for following through with what He has told them to do.
A great example of this is in the life of Jesus and John the Baptist. The Bible says in Luke 7:33-34, “For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say ‘he has a demon!’ The son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard, a friend of tax gathers and sinners!'”
Both were called by God, both were led by the Spirit of God and both were mighty for the Kingdom of God, yet, both were told by God to live different ways.
We must be careful not to try to push the great truths that God has told us onto another, but let them walk their own walk before God.
