During my studies the other day I came across this scripture about the day Jesus took Peter, James and John to a mountain. On this mountain they saw Jesus talking with Elijah and Moses.
Matthew 17:1-4 “And six days later Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and brought them up to a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them; and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appear to them, talking with Him. And Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three Tabernacle’s here, one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
As I read this I thought, how in the world did Peter recognize Moses and Elijah? These men lived many years before, yet Peter instantly recognize them!
We all wonder what life in heaven will be like and if we will recognize our loved ones. I think this Scripture gives us a glimpse into the mighty power of God, showing us, we will not only recognize our loved ones, but we will also recognize those we did not know.
Father, thank you for giving us hope for the future by showing us a glimpse of glorified life!
