The Tree

One day while I was on a walk,  I noticed a giant palm tree whose roots were exposed because the ground had washed away.

As I looked at the thousands upon thousands of tiny roots going down to the ground, it made me think of the parable Jesus told about the house made on the rock.

Now, I know these are different senerios but same principle still stands.

In our faith walk every time we hear God and act on what He has said we begin to trust Him more. As we see Him work in our life the roots of our faith grow deeper and deeper.

Just like Jesus said in Matthew 7:25, “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock,”  so it is with us.

Every time the strong winds of life come, and we continue in trusting God, it strengthens our root system. If  our roots are grounded from the experiences we have with God, we will be able to withstand any storm that comes our way.

Father, help me as I try to trust you more and more, even when my life is falling apart. Use the trials to strengthen my root system so nothing will ever separate me from You.
