One of the aspects of Christianity that might be difficult for some to grasp is that God is a loving father.
We tend to view how God loves us based on our earthly fathers. For some this can be a great picture of our Heavenly Fathers love but for others it can be a world of confusion.
If your earthly father was moody, quick tempered, abusive or just plain mean, know that this is a flawed man, a sinner, just like everybody else and has done the best he knows how to do.
There are beautiful examples of God’s love in the Bible. The most memorable to me is John 14:16. Jesus said, “I will pray to the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever.”
Even though God is in heaven He knows how difficult it is to live in this world. What a great gift our Father has given us, in the Holy Spirit, that He will never leave us alone!
Thank you Father for loving me and wanting to be with me, a messed up sinner.
