To me one of the most impressive actions Jesus took while on this earth was declaring to the Father, “Your will be done.”
Think about the circumstances under which Jesus uttered these famous words.
In Mark 14:36, when He said, Your will be done, He was in the midst of a battle. A battle of the wills, a battle between preserving His own life or giving it up for you!
Each time we come to a point where we must make a decision to choose between God’s will and our own, we enter into a spiritual battle.
Remember, Satan does not want us to follow God’s will, and to add Your will be done to the end of your prayer is declaring whom you will serve.
You are never more like Jesus than when you willingly say to your Heavenly Father, Your will be done.
Father, thank for the example Jesus left us. Help us always to choose Your will rather than our own, boldly declaring whom we will serve!
