Bring Forth Fruit

Each day we have the opportunity to bring forth fruit from the seed of the word which God had shared with you that morning.

I was going about my day, thinking about personal issues and the Holy Spirit said to me, “You are allowing the worries of this world to choke out the blessing from this morning.”

When He said this I immediately thought of Luke 8:14, “And  The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with the worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.”

Jesus was telling me this because He wanted me to meditate on the things which I had read that morning, instead of wasting time thinking about the issues of my life.

When we spend time thinking about our problems we don’t meditate on the truths given to us, which would produce fruit to maturity in our life.

Father, help us to  meditate on your word every day instead of concentrating on our problems. In the name of Jesus, I pray, amen.

  1. Excellent reminder. Too often I read my Bible in the morning and then immediately get into my day without giving what I have read another thought. Mediation on the Word is a must!
