What tempts you?

Are you tempted to gossip, lie or steal? Are you tempted by money, drugs or alcohol. Are you tempted by men or women?

Jesus said, in Matthew 26:41, “Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Most of us, like Peter, fall asleep in a sense, not watching and praying because we are not tempted every day. The devil can leave you alone for many years on a certain temptation and then out of nowhere tempt you again.

To keep watching means to be very aware of the things you are tempted by and always be looking for ways the devil might tempt you. When you see the signs of a temptation rising, be in prayer constantly that you do not fall into that temptation.

But remember, even if you are tempted, being tempted is not a sin, going ahead with the temptation is!

Father, help me every day to remember to watch and pray. Please give me eyes to see temptation far off. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen
