Have you ever had one of those days where immediately upon waking an issue arises that you cannot do anything about? This morning I faced an similar issue and then the war in my mind began. This war was between trying to think good thoughts or dwell on the issue all day.
In prayer I asked our Father to help me keep my thoughts on Him and soon after the Holy Spirit led me to Proverbs 15:15. ”All the days of the afflicted are bad. But a cheerful heart has a continual feast.” NASB
I can relate to this, I certainly feel like I am afflicted and having a bad day. So how can this proverb help? By putting into practice the second sentence. God is showing me if I can stay cheerful my heart will be in a constant state of feasting even though my circumstances have not changed.
This proverb shows us that if we continually dwell on our circumstances all of our days will be bad, but we have a choice. We can choose to have a bad day or keep our mind on him and have a continual feast.
Father, thank you for your word that leads us into the right way to live, help us to always stop and think and choose your way over our way. In Jesus name, amen.
