Indecision Can Kill

A few weeks ago it was raining pretty hard and I drove past an accident. It was clear what had happened, the car had run into a dividing barrier at the tollbooth. This person was indecisive about the direction he wanted to go and at the last moment he changed his mind, right into an accident. The person was OK but his indecision could’ve killed him.

Just like indecision while driving can kill you, indecision in your Christian walk can kill your faith. Faith is believing and indecision is to doubt what you once believed. In Elijah’s day, the people of Israel were indecisive about whether they wanted to serve God or serve the god Baal, and when Elijah addressed the people he said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him, but if Baal, follow him. But the people did not answer him a word.” 1 Kings 18:21. Elijah is saying how long will you hesitate in making your decision? Make a choice and stick with it!

Have you made the decision to make Jesus Lord of your life? To make Jesus Lord of your life is to no longer be indecisive about following Him, it is to make choices that support godliness and righteousness. It is to bring forth fruit in keeping with repentance. Make the decision today, that Jesus will be Lord over every area of your life and stick to it, no longer allowing yourself to have an opinion in the matter. It’s either Him or you, it can’t be both.

Father, thank You for giving Jesus as a sacrifice for my sins and help me to follow you fully, making the decision once and for all, to make Jesus Lord of my life. Please lead me into all Your truth to help me grow in the knowledge and faith of Your kingdom. In the name of Jesus, I pray.
