John 8:31, “Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed him, if you abide in my word, then you are truly disciples of mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
It seems that we throw this saying around anytime we want to tell somebody about their offense’s, but that is not what Jesus meant by this. Jesus is not speaking about another person, He speaking about you.
He is saying if you abide in my word, then you will understand the correct way to live, which in turn shows you your failures. Knowing the truth about your failures breaks the power of bondage. When we acknowledge His way is best and take the necessary steps to change, it causes us to be free from that bondage.
Father, thank You for giving us an avenue to freedom through salvation in Jesus and thank You for leaving us the Bible to help us along the way. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen
