People always ask this question, can the devil read my mind? No, he cannot, but the reason it seems like he can is because he uses the telltale signs that you display against you.
Any slight moan, groan or sigh is an indication of annoyance that he will exploit to get you greatly annoyed.
Haven’t you ever noticed when you are having a bad day, it is one annoying thing after another causing it? Until you are boiling with anger?
Jesus knew the importance of keeping His feelings to a minimum. In John 14:30 He said, “I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.”
He knew that if He spoke too much it would tell the devil what He was thinking and he would use it to pester Him and try to get Him to sin.
Paul addresses this same subject in Ephesians 4:26-27 when he said, “Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.”
He is saying to make sure that you get over the feeling of anger before the sun goes down. Why? So you do not give the devil an opportunity into your life.
To have feelings is not wrong, but to allow them to take the place of trusting God, gives the devil an opportunity to wreak havoc in your life.
Father, teach us how to trust you instead of showing our emotions about every annoyance, to help us keep the devil from gaining a foothold into our life. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
