One of the hardest things to do is to be honest with ourselves. When we make a mistake or even sin, we are quick to blame someone else, just like Adam and Eve blamed others. It is difficult to look at yourself, to own your decisions and to say, “I made this decision and this is why.”
When we are not honest with the sin in our life it is hiding from ourselves and God. But God wants us to not to hide from our sin, but to be quick to repent keeping our relationship with Him unbroken.
Psalm 51:6 states, “Behold, thou desire truth in the innermost being.”
We all have a certain blindness to the wrong areas in our life that are opposed to God, and it is only after you choose to see yourself the way God sees you, that He can begin to make you more like Jesus.
Father, help us each to take an honest look at ourself, to see if we are blaming others for our choices. Thank you for showing us the truth in life. In Jesus name, amen.
