When I find myself in certain frustrating situations and I just don’t know what to do, I have learned to put my hope in God by saying to Him, “I don’t know what to do in this situation but You do, I put my trust in You that You will show me what to do.” Each time I have done this He has been faithful to answer me quickly, showing me either what to do or giving me peace to wait the situation out. Each one of us can gain peace in our situations by putting our hope in Him because He knows what is best for you and will help you when you believe He will.
Look at what Paul said about hope in Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
This says to me, if I believe that God has it all under control, I will gain joy and peace even in the middle of the circumstance. It also says to me, that peace and joy is from the Holy Spirit, which means it is a permanent joy and peace, not a temporary one that leaves when things don’t change. It is difficult to believe that good can come from our many difficulties, but God will work it out and if you can put your hope in Him during it, then joy and peace can be found while it is still happening.
Father, thank you for being our hope. Thank you for giving us joy and peace in our struggles, help us keep our eyes on You. In Jesus name, amen.
