I often think about Jesus saying we are to be as children in the world and I recently saw this verse in Philippians 2:14-15 that supports what Jesus said.
“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
I noticed that it says, if we do not complain and dispute, it makes us children of God without fault, in the midst of our generation. Our world is full of people trying to get their own way and have their say, so when they meet someone who’s not trying to push their own opinion upon them, they see a difference, they see a light. For us to not complain or argue about things, shows that we put all of our trust and faith into our Father in heaven, making us a light to the people.
Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Father, help us not to argue or complain, that we may be different, as shining lights in the world that point people to You. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
