Procrastination Causes A Lost Opportunity

“When it comes time to die, make sure that all you have to do is die.” Jim Elliot.

Think about this statement for a minute. What does this mean to you? To me, this means not to go one more minute in procrastination about doing what I know God has told me to do. One of the biggest ways I fail Jesus, is when I know that He is telling me to do something but I am either too afraid or I procrastinate.

I remember a few years ago Jesus telling me to witness to a coworker and I kept putting it off and when I finally did speak to him, it was like my words fell on deaf ears. I know without a doubt if I had spoken to him at the time Jesus said, he would’ve heard me, but because I did not, the anointing was lost! Why? Because Jesus had prepared his heart to receive His word at that specific time. If my time had come to go to heaven, that failure would have been before me. I like the words of Mary, the mother of Jesus, when she said in John 2:5, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Father, help me to always quickly do whatever You ask. Keep my conscious clear before you. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
