“Successful people do consistently what normal people do occasionally.” Craig Groeschel
What makes people successful in the world also makes people successful in God’s kingdom; and that is consistency. It is only when you push past a Sunday morning only worship of God and consistently seek Him that you will begin to see success in your walk.
One of my favorite descriptions of Jesus is, “As His custom was,” in Luke 4:16. “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.” Jesus made customs of success for Himself holding to them consistently, not only of going to the synagogue, but also going to a quiet place to pray, in Matthew 14:23, and going about doing good, in Acts 10:38.
In order for Jesus to have made these customs, He had to have been doing so for a long time. This means He made these customs while He had a family, a job and the same responsibilities we have. This makes Jesus the perfect example and why we should ask Him how He always managed to keep God first in His life.
Jesus, we ask You to show us how to make our Father first while keeping up with all our responsibilities. Thank You for being our perfect example. Amen.
