When two people are joined together it is difficult to completely trust the other person. There is always that nagging thought in the back of your mind, “What if they really do not have my best interest in heart?”
When my husband and I got together he quite often asked, do you trust me? One day I finally said, no, I trust God!
I said that to him not because I think he means me harm, but because I know if I place my trust in him, I will be disappointed.
I have not found any where in the Bible where it ever tells us to trust in people, I only find scriptures that tell us to trust in God.
Anytime we put our trust in people we will be disappointed. When we trust in God the circumstances we face are much easier because we know whatever happens to us is God’s will and part of His plan for our life.
There is no one who will ever love you more than God, not even your spouse. Once you put your trust in God, you will find the pressure is relieved from the expectations we all place on one another, because you know God is the One in control.
Romans 10:11 states, “For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
Father, help us to place our trust fully on you and not in people. Help us to remember if we trust in you we will not be disappointed. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
